Note that this plaster bandage has an additional measure to keep the plaster in it fresh, it's vacuum sealed to keep all moist air out. Plaster that's been exposed to air for some time will go bad. The picture shows just one roll, if you order multiples they will each be vacuum sealed.

This is a great way to make a "mother mold" if you are mold making and casting. If you don't know what a "mother mold" is, see the brief explanation in the next paragraph. To use plaster bandage you just cut off the length you need, hold each end with your fingers, and quickly run it through a large open container of water starting with one hand and ending with the other (in a rolling motion). Just dipping it into the water also works, but it can tend to pull out to much water (just putting on the surface of the water would probably get enough water on it, never tried that, the dip and rolling motion worked so well for me). There are so many tutorials and videos on the internet on ways to use this I'm not going to give one more. Enter "using plaster bandage" in Google and you'll find lots of hits, although the majority will be on making "Life Casting", usually on making a mold of a person's face. Here's what a supplier says:
"This is the same thing the doctor wrapped your broken arm in when you fell off of your bicycle as a kid. We sell it here for use not only as a mother mold making medium for the alginates and Moulage, but also as a mold making/impression making material. Just lubricate the surface of the body part you want to cast with petroleum jelly or shortening, dip this stuff into water and apply it. It works best if you cut it into small strips before you start, or you can use it in the full length rolls if you're going to wrap the part you're casting."
I have some hesitation in recommending doing that, because plaster heats up when it hardens (although plaster bandage less so unless you work quickly and are building up many layers of bandages), and other things can go wrong, but if you follow the instructions precisely you should be fine. But another reason for my hesitation in recommending that is that it won't be a high quality mold, using plaster bandage alone. There are lots of ways to make exact, perfect face molds. Google "making a face mold". You'll see several with the word "alginate" which is a powdered flexible mold making material that you mix with water to any consistency you want. It's safer than any type of direct plaster mold. Here's just one tutorial on alginate, { https://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Cast-a-Face-in-Plaster/ }. Another way is with silicone. Google "making a face mold with silicone", and once again you'll get a lot of hits.

But, getting back to plaster bandage which is what this listing is for! I mentioned "mother molds". Here's a brief explanation of what a mother mold is: a mother mold is a rigid sectioned mold of a multi-piece primary mold. It's usually used when you're forced to make more than a 1 or 2 piece mold of a complex object. Take Da Vinci's famous horse that he never finished (it was finished 500 years later!). It would take a many piece mold of a horse clay sculpture. If you used a flexible molding material, you couldn't fit the pieces back together after they were removed from the sculpture, they would sag and "flop" around. A mother mold is made over the flexible mold while it's still on the sculpture. It's made in pieces also, because the pieces need to fit together at strategically placed flanges. It's partially put back together and the flexible primary mold sections are pressed into the mother mold sections which are "keyed" so they will fit precisely in the mother mold. When complete you will have an entire flexible primary mold cavity which is exactly aligned and supported by the rigid outer mother mold.
Google "how to make a mother mold" for a lot of tutorials and videos on the details that I left out.-
