These are pre-tabbed candle wicks for use with granulated candle wax. They have paper cores. All wicks are 8". They are pre-waxed with a high melting point paraffin. The supplier says: "Paper core wicks do not burn as hot as cotton but they do offer more rigidity. These wicks are constructed of 100% natural fibers. They are effective in paraffin-based waxes."
The tab goes in the glass container, adhered with 'glue dots' or hot melt glue to the bottom center of the container (glue dots are better if children are participating, hot melt glue will burn skin). The glue-in-center ensures that the candle flame will burn in the center of the candle all the way to the bottom instead of veering off to the side when it nears the bottom, possibly heating the glass and cracking it. To get the wick centered, an old trick is to thread the wick onto a plastic straw, apply the glue to the bottom of the wick tab and insert the wick/straw assembly into the glass container, pressing it down in the center of the glass until the glue takes hold. Cut the wick to fit the height of the candle, leaving about 1/2" of wick protruding above the wax at the top of the candle.
There are 3 thicknesses of wicks for different candle diameters (measure the inside of the glass container):

"Thin": 44-24-18 Paper 20x6mm - For 2 - 3.5" diameter containers
"Medium": 51-32-18 Paper 20x6mm - For 3.5 - 4" diameter containers
"Thick": 60-44-18 Paper 20x6mm - For 4 - 4.5" diameter containers

What do the 3 pairs of numbers mean? Here is an explanation from one supplier { https://www.theflamingcandle.com/what-do-candle-wick-numbers-mean/ }:
"The wick numbers represent the size of the wick. Candles need the right wick size specific to their diameter to burn correctly. Smaller diameter candles require smaller wick sizes and larger diameter candles require larger wick sizes (unless you are using more than one wick). As a general rule, the larger the wick number, the larger (thicker) the wick size. This is important when determining the right wick size to use for a specific candle diameter. Using too small of a wick will lead to 'tunneling' or will cause the flame to drown out. Using too large of a wick size will lead to excess smoking, soot, and/or mushrooming, as well as cut down on the candle burn time. Understanding the wick size number is essential to ensure you are using the right wick size that will lead to optimal burning characteristics."
For example, the mid-range size wick, 51-32-18; here's what those numbers refer to:

The first number, 51, tells you the wick size [thickness]. The size of the wick is determined by how many spools of yarn were used to make the wick. The higher the number, the larger the wick. As a general rule, the larger wick sizes will have a bigger melt pool and usually have higher wax consumption.
The second number, 32, indicates the speed at which the wick was sent through the braiding machine. The higher the number, the faster the speed and the tighter the braid. Wicks with a tighter braid have less fuel (wax) consumption.
The third number, 18, is a code for the temperature of the wax as the wick is fed through the gears of the braiding machine. This temperature varies according to the two previous numbers.
Note: Many pre-tabbed wicks may appear to be the same thickness even though they are different wick sizes. Smaller wick sizes tend to have a thicker wax coating which creates the illusion of having the same thickness of larger wicks sizes. However, these wicks will burn differently when used in a finished candle."

What do the numbers "20x6mm" mean? They refer to the metal tab that's on one end of the wick. The "20" means the metal tab is 20 mm in diameter and the "6" means how tall the tab is in mm (including its metal neck which crimps the wick).-

As described and very well packaged using recycled materials. Thank you!

I love how the seller package candle wicks to ensure they arrive undamaged. Candle wicks are good quality and definitely would buy again!

Came very quickly and was exactly what I needed. Would of preferred them to be kept straight but it’s not too big of a deal to straighten them and let stick before using! Will order again!
