A little of this goes a long way, so depending on your application this may be all you need. Note that we have some older bronze metal flake that is shown pictured in a side-by-side comparison. Several of the colors in those listings are sold out and we can no longer get them. This is one of a new and different color that broadens the range of colors we once had. Also note there is another copper listing called "Fine Copper Leaf". The difference between the two is "brilliant" means larger particle size and "fine" means smaller particle size. It's difficult to see the difference just looking at the pictures.
Note that this is not the type of metal powder used for "cold cast" metal (added to a liquid resin which can then be polished like actual metal). Those are round shaped particles and are very heavy. A pound of those would probably occupy 10% of the volume of a pound of these flakes, which are very fine, light, and fluffy. But this is not as light as another type of fine metal flake which is made from aluminum. This is made from bronze, which is much heavier than aluminum. Bronze is traditionally made of 80 to 90 percent copper and the rest tin (brass which is similar traditionally has zinc substituted for the tin). The copper in bronze is what makes it so heavy and also more expensive than aluminum. The Wiki article on bronze is here:

In general, the flake metals are more effective when added in smaller quantities to paints or thin coatings/layers of liquid plastics, rather than as fillers (heavy loading) for liquid plastics.
One interesting way to use this is as a "transfer" colorant. The same can be done with graphite and the Pearl Ex powders to give nice surface effects. Here's how you do that:
Brush some into the cavity of a silicone mold (which tends to have a 'tacky' surface), and a fine layer of the flakes will stick to the surface of the mold. Then cast an epoxy or urethane into that mold and the powder clinging to the mold surface will transfer to the positive part and give some very nice metallic effects on the surface of the casting, similar to what you get if you brush a finely divided flaked bronze or interference powder (Pearl Ex) onto any surface. Sometimes you see a person whose skin appears to be metallic. A flaked fine metal powder is what gives that effect. Silicone rubber is the best mold surface I've found to do this with, because almost all other mold materials require release agents to be brushed onto the mold, which interferes with the effectiveness of the metal powder. Perhaps someone has found a technique that works well on urethane or latex rubber molds. I never pursued it much because I worked almost exclusively with silicone.-

The cost in my cart seems too high, what can I do?

This problem usually occurs with multiple items. We have free shipping on many of our items. In your cart items will have the sum of all embedded shipping costs. If you place an order for 3 or more "FreeShip" items, you will receive a "rebate" for the excess shipping. The more items you have the greater the shipping refund will be. You can also message us to ask what the total cost of your order will be when excess shipping is refunded before you purchase.
Or, if you see "Request a Custom Order" or "Message Seller", you can request a custom order and your items will be put in a custom listing with the correct shipping. You would purchase it like any other listing.

It's not Real Metal Flake, I don't know what it is but real metal is not. I tested this with a Volt meter to test conductivity and got none. So I thought It might have a protective coating to prevent tarnishing but it was not conductive, it will not tarnish or get a patina either.
