This is crushed limestone with a small particle size of about 325 mesh. This will be a medium to light gray when mixed with liquid resins. Limestone is made mostly of calcium carbonate. It could be named "unrefined calcium carbonate". Depending on where it was mined it can contain more or less dolomite. It can also contain very small amounts of feldspar, kaolin, and quartz. All of those minerals we carry in a refined state.
Limestone is a carbonate sedimentary rock. When limestone is metamorphized by pressure and heat it transforms into marble. So, marble is a metamorphic rock. Like calcium carbonate, marble powder and limestone powder is heavy when used as a filler for liquid resins. Limestone and calcium carbonate are both relatively inexpensive resin fillers but because they are dense, the cost savings is somewhat decreased. Both limestone and calcium carbonate will make liquid resins opaque. Calcium carbonate will make the finished resin/filler a white color. Because limestone is mostly calcium carbonate it will also be opaque but will not be pure white because it's unrefined with tiny amounts of iron oxide and other colored impurities.
Limestone is alkaline and soluble in weakly acidic water. Many cave systems exist from the erosion of limestone by acid rain or other acidic water sources.
Limestone is used for many things, such as a stone building material, a component of portland cement (when heated to high temperatures), as an aggregate (gravel) in concrete, as a gravel for the building of roads (with a bituminous layer on top making a "paved" surface). Two types of lime are made from limestone (Quicklime [calcium oxide], slaked lime [calcium hydroxide]). Pulverized limestone is used as agricultural lime. Glass making uses lime. In blast furnaces, limestone binds with silica and other impurities to remove them from the iron being extracted.

I'm currently using the permanent hair removal method as recommended. I've already had laser hair removal. This is complimenting that treatment with the stray hairs I'm still getting. I do recommend moisturizing after. I also like leaving it a little gritty so it exfoliates as well. I'm on my 3rd use and can't wait to see after a week or 2.
