The embedment of these small copper sculptures in resin would work well for those who make orgonite pyramids. Another use would be temperature abatement in larger epoxy castings with enough mass that the exothermic heat could not be dissipated fast enough. I've personally made castings big enough to overheat and crack. Embedding metals like copper and aluminum which conduct heat well enough to allow the gelling of epoxy (and other liquid resins) to stay cool enough not to crack and smoke (yes, I've heard it can get hot enough to go past the smoke stage and begin burning).
The best strategy is to provide multiple or continuous pathways from the center of the mass to the outside though the use of powder, grain, and small or large chunks mixed into the resin. Different sizes of grain and powder if distributed evenly in the resin can do the trick and carry that heat away.

Copper is a unique metal, having some of the characteristics of gold. It's heavy. It's very malleable and ductile, meaning it can be hammered flat, stretched, and bent very easily. "Work hardening", which takes place when you hammer (for example) a metal to flatten it. It becomes brittle and will break. But if you heat the metal to a low red color (you are "annealing" it), the work hardening will be reversed and you can continue to hammer it flat until it gets brittle again. You can continue to do this indefinitely. Copper is also very easy to alloy or mix with other metals. Bronze, for example, is mostly copper with some tin or zinc (tin makes "true" bronze). Brass is mostly copper with some zinc. When you buy gold you usually buy 18 or 14 karat gold.
Neither are pure gold. They are both alloys of copper and gold, 18K gold having more gold than 14K. 24 karat gold is pure gold and is usually not used for jewelry because it is too soft and wears away too fast. Copper hardens and strengthens it. Sterling silver is an alloy of silver and copper. And there are other less well known alloys of copper.
Copper has other important properties such as high electrical conductivity and high thermal conductivity. The wiring in your house is copper. Copper is used in electronics (only gold is more electrically conductive), both for larger wiring and as a material for "heat sinks" that are attached to computer processors and power transistors to keep them from overheating and burning up.
"Copper is one of the few metals that can occur in nature in a directly usable metallic form (native metals). This led to very early human use in several regions, from c. 8000 BC." That means pure copper can be found in the ground which was why it was one of the first metals used by humans. That's a quote from the Wikipedia article which contains much more information on copper. Here's the link: { https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper }, check it out, it's very interesting!

The cost in my cart seems too high, what can I do?

This problem usually occurs with multiple items. We have free shipping on many of our items. In your cart items will have the sum of all embedded shipping costs. If you place an order for 3 or more "FreeShip" items, you will receive a "rebate" for the excess shipping. The more items you have the greater the shipping refund will be. You can also message us to ask what the total cost of your order will be when excess shipping is refunded before you purchase.
Or, if you see "Request a Custom Order" or "Message Seller", you can request a custom order and your items will be put in a custom listing with the correct shipping. You would purchase it like any other listing.
